I missed the huge grin that Elanora was giving Victoria, but her adoration of her big sister can still be seen in her sweet blue eyes.
What’s even more remarkable is that a few minutes before I snapped this picture, Elanora was upset and sobbing – Victoria scooted a chair over to the changing table, climbed up so she could see her baby sister and, in her own special way, started hollering the ABC song about 4 inches from her face.
Right as I was about to pull Victoria away so she wouldn’t make the screaming worse, Elanora abruptly stopped and immediately broke into a huge grin. Whatever she was upset about was forgotten, and she was transfixed by Victoria long enough for me to finish changing her diaper and get this picture before we took care of the real problem – her empty little tummy.
God definitely designed Elanora to be Victoria’s little sister. I can’t even count how many times I have cringed as Victoria ran right past Elanora’s bassinet yelling something at the top of her lungs, or even running up to her and thumping her and saying she was going to “check Noo-ah!” and Elanora didn’t even stir in her sleep.
Yup…God knew what He was doing when he gave us a sweet little sister that sleeps like a rock and loves having the ABC’s shouted into her face.

How sweet! I always loved that when my babies were little too. It really is such a huge blessing and relief to have big siblings who know how to help even when mommy can’t seem to make it better!

I always think that babies have 9 months of preparation for life with their siblings as they listen to all the hollering from the womb. I’m pretty sure that’s why my fourth was so late. He just wasn’t ready to meet his crazy siblings yet!

This is seriously the best part of having two children. I love watching them interact with each other. I have a daughter who is 4.5 and a son who is 2, and they are each others best friend. This morning I found my son snuggled into my daughters bed and she was reading his stories. It warms my heart, and I am excited to give them another sibling to love.

So precious! Waiting to have #3 I wonder how our family dynamic will change. Being an only child I both love & hate the way my kids interact. But the sweet moments? They make it all worth it. Enjoy those precious little girls.
