I got to choose from a few of the great toys at Maukilo.com, and picked the HABA Sand Bucket Scooter to review because the sand pail has wheels and Angelo loves to push stuff around. I figured he might enjoy it more than a regular sand pail. I had no idea just how much he would love it! He honestly tries to bring it everywhere with him! He even requests to hold it on his lap while riding in the car then gets upset when he drops it.
The HABA Sand Bucket Scooter comes with a bucket cart, sieve, sand car mold, and sand trowel. All of the pieces stack together and fit in the bucket. It also came inside a zippered mesh bag which I thought was a great idea. I think it will make it much easier for us to keep track of the pieces when we take it somewhere. I also really liked the shape of the trowel. It’s a rounded cup shape, and it makes it very easy for a little hand to hold onto and dig with. Much easier than the typical sand shovel.I originally thought the bucket might be a bit larger than it actually is, but at this point, it’s a plus for us that it’s smaller since Angelo keeps wanting to take it everywhere. The pieces are made from sturdy plastic that seems like it will last for quite some time. The wheels on the bucket roll smoothly over carpet and sand.
Luckily we were heading to the beach just after we received this pail so we could try it out with some actual sand. We had a great time digging holes, sifting sand into the bucket, dumping sand, and pushing the scooter around. Angelo mostly liked to play with the wheeled sand pail part (as I suspected he might). It held up well on the beach, and was easy to wash and get all the sand off of when we got home.
As aforementioned, Angelo loves playing with this set even without sand or dirt. He likes to push it around the carpet or just hold it in his lap if he’s stuck sitting somewhere. The one downfall of him loving it so much is that he has a very hard time sharing it with his friends, but we’re working on it.

It was also fun to look through all of the neat toys and products that Maukilo.com has available. They have some toys that look very fun to play with that I haven’t seen anywhere else before.
