Mohawk Valley Trading Co. Raw Honey Review & Giveaway

by Mama Chocolate on December 12, 2011

The Mohawk Valley Trading Company offers the highest quality organic and unprocessed natural products they can produce such as maple syrup and raw honey.

raw honey

Their raw honey is unpasteurized, unfiltered, unprocessed, unheated, unblended and is available in 5 varieties:

Raw honey contains all of the pollen, live enzymes, propolis, vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, minerals, and aromatics in the same condition as they were in the hive.

For eons, honey has been used for coughs, it is a safe alternative to over the counter cough syrup especially for children, (research Cough Medicine vs. Honey)

I was sent a jar of their Adirondack Wildflower Autumn Honey to review. I love using raw honey for the health benefits and love the taste!

I will admit that I didn’t care for the flavor of the Adirondack as much as other raw honeys I have eaten, but I think perhaps it was just the variety. It is primaraly derived from goldenrod flowers, and it had an odd strong aftertaste.

I’m sure the buckwheat or apple, or any of the others would probably be more to my liking…besides my personal preference, however, the honey was great! The texture was good, and my husband didn’t have the same issue with the flavor that I did.

I ended up using most of it in my Departure Trail Mix Bars, and it was perfect. The aftertaste that I didn’t care for was completely absent when mixed with the other ingredients!

Mohawk Valley Trading Co. is sponsoring a giveaway of one, 1-pound jar of their Adirondack Wildflower Autumn Honey!

(estimated value $16.00 shipping included)

Giveaway is open to residents of the 48 continental US, aged 18 and over.
