Our Christmas Lights are Up! #KmartHoliday #CBias

by Mama Chocolate on December 23, 2011

After our trip to Kmart, we had a pile of lights, ready to adorn our home, and now we have them up!

Since the icicle lights were going onto the eaves of the roof, I had to wait until John was home to help me out.

I don’t exactly enjoy clamoring on ladders and roofs, especially in my *ahem* condition.

Yucky lighting with our camera in the dark, but there’s John doin’ the job!

(we are still in the middle of re-painting our house, which is why the trim around the windows looks sloppy. Just FYI.) ;-)

I love having lights on the house! It makes it so much cheerier every time we drive up, or I have to go out in the dark to feed the animals.

The LED lights are very bright and beautiful!

The “icicles” aren’t quite as long as I had hoped. I think perhaps the LED ones are shorter…I don’t know, but they seemed much shorter than the icicle lights I’ve seen before.

Doesn’t bother me too much, though, and they still add a lot of cheer to our house!

I look forward to doing this annually now! We ended up with two extra boxes, overestimating how many we needed when I was buying them, so next year, (when our lives aren’t so crazy, ha!) we’ll probably put those on our well shed. There is no electrical outlet out there yet, so it has to wait.

The garland didn’t make it around our door, as I had hoped. Again, we just didn’t have the right equipment to get it up there with our busy schedule this year.

So…I put it in the kitchen for now.

I am really enjoying it there, and it may come back out next year and show up in the same spot…but I know it’ll look awesome on the door, so we’ll see. ;-)

If you didn’t see it yet, check out my Google Plus album to see my shopping trip for these goodies!

We’re headed out this afternoon to kick off our Christmas celebrations with the family, so…I’ll be back on Monday!

In the mean time…

Merry Christmas to you all!

I LOVE the lights! I do think they are a little bit shorter than normal but its better than ours because my husband refuses to do lights like that. No icicles he says. It looks beautiful though!

Fun! They look great! I love the idea of putting up lights but not the chore of it. Only one star made it up on our house this year but it was just enough to make it so we had lights! ;) Stopping by the Alexa Drop Hop. Stop by when you get a chance! :)
