The more I learn about the chemicals in our soaps, the less inclined I am to pick up the popular brands in the store. Our skin is an amazing organ, and it absorbs way more than we know. So all those unpronounceable chemicals? Yep, they get absorbed, too.
Rainbow Research has been making natural products for over 30 years, and I was excited for the opportunity to review some children’s soap!
My children’s skin is especially important to me. The first thing I wanted to try was the Sweet Dreams Bubble Bath (we always seem to be taking baths in the evening), and the Baby Oh Baby Body Wash.
I was interested to see if the bubble bath would be very…bubbly. This picture was taken toward the end of their bath, and there were still plenty of bubbles! And the body-wash smelled, well, gentle. It didn’t leave a sharp, chemically smell, and left their skin soft instead of drying it out.
The Sweet Dreams bubble bath is made with organic herbs, especially formulated for a relaxing, pre-bedtime bath that will ease your little one’s transition to bed.
The last thing they sent was liquid soap for kids. I had an unusual opportunity to test this one out! My 18 month old was (I thought) happily looking at books in the corner, when she turned around and I saw a black marker in her hand. She’d drawn on her hands, face, head… you name it.
It was hard to get her to hold still and pose for the camera, so you can’t see the worst of it. But, with a little of this soap and some gentle scrubbing, it all came right off! Whew! I was so relieved that it all came off that I forgot to take an ‘after’ picture.
I also reviewed the Lavender Chamomile Bubble Bath, which is safe for both adults and children. You’ll have to forgive me not having a picture of me using the lavender bubble bath! But rest assured it smells lovely and I’m looking forward to savoring the whole bottle bit by bit!
