I have been wanting to whiten my teeth a bit for awhile now, but have been too afraid to try the drugstore whitening kits and not willing to spend a bunch of money at the dentist. I had heard good things recently about Smile Brilliant so I was happy to try out their Brilliantly Simple Package which includes an LED bleaching light, whitening pen, and protective trays.

This kit is really straightforward and easy to use. You simply paint the gel on your teeth with the non-messy whitening pen, cover with the protective trays, then place the LED light in the front of your mouth and turn it on. When you’re done simply turn the light off, take it out, and remove the trays then rinse your mouth. I really like that there’s no mess and that you can paint the whitening gel on so you can be sure to get the entire front of your tooth bleached. I was always worried about trying those kits with the film you put on thinking it couldn’t possibly get in all the crevices between your teeth, and I’d end up looking like I had something stuck between my teeth.

Not having tried whitening products before I was a bit taken back at the 20-40 minute bleaching time for 5 days in a row recommendation in the instructions (or until you reach the whitening amount you’d like). After having looked into it a bit, I found most at-home whitening kits are at least 20 minutes if not longer. Keeping the trays and light in my mouth for that long really wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be . I just plopped down in front of the computer and soon the time had flown by. I should mention that I do have a fairly strong gag reflex which is why I was a bit concerned about the application time, but I did not have any issues while using this product since everything pretty much stays to the front of your mouth.

I bleached for 6 days total over about a week and a half. I do notice that my teeth are a shade or so whiter. They aren’t blazing white, but I really don’t want them to be hugely noticeably different.

I think the Brilliantly Simple Package will be great to keep using from time to time when my teeth need a little pick-me-up.

The Brilliantly Simple package is currently $39.95 and you can get 20% off with the code “SMILE20″.
