She’s a week and a half old now, so I’m thinking it’s high time you all met our beautiful Elanora Sophia!
(my apologies for not getting you pictures sooner…I hope I have a good excuse.)
Our sweet little lady arrived on her due date (!!) of August 19th at 9:53am, after only six hours of labor, via successful home water birth! By far my easiest labor as of yet, it was nearly 1/3 as long as my other two, and I felt pretty amazing afterwards in comparison!
(Birth story coming soon!)
Only 5 people correctly guessed that we would be welcoming a baby girl into our family right on her due date, August 19th. I used Random.org to pick the official winner from those five, and Kristen Bobbitt was the lucky one who will be seeing a $25 Amazon gift code in her inbox soon!
I also picked a random winner for the $10 gift code from all the entries (to give ya’ll a fighting chance!) and Ashley Hazelton was the lucky one!
(I’m pretty sure at some point during the day, Victoria was wearing pants…)
Congrats to both of the winners, and thanks to everyone who played along! I loved reading everyone’s guesses and why they made them! After reading several of you apologizing for predicting that we’d have a girl, I realized that I failed to mention that while we are very much looking forward to having a boy someday, (Lord willing!) we would be (and now ARE) absolutely thrilled to have another daughter.
I am part of three girls in a row, (although we have three older brothers,) and we loved growing up together so close in age. I am so excited that my girls have each other to play with and grow up together through the years, and I hope they will all be bestest friends like me and my dear sisters.
Elanora is our smallest baby yet, born at 7lbs, 4oz, and measuring 20 inches. Newborns always amaze me with how tiny they are, and our “little” toddler Victoria looks huge now!
After 10 days of getting to know her, I think it’s safe to say that we have one happy, content little girl here. Elanora has been amazing. She sleeps well at night, nurses like that’s what she was born to do, and is alert and calm for long periods of time each day.
That’s not to say that she still doesn’t bring with her the usual upheaval of the household that a newborn generally causes. We are officially outnumbered now, and I, especially, am having to learn how to keep up alone with 3 little ones aged 3 and under during the day!
God has blessed our family immensely and I am looking forward to learning more about our new little girl and who she is as she grows into another precious little person in our household!
Thank you so much for all your prayers and well-wishes!
