So far, Oregon has had a ridiculously mild summer. There haven’t been more than two days when it reached even 90 degrees, and mostly it’s been more like 60-something with clouds and rain.
I’m not complaining.
In fact, you can probably blame me, because God is already answering my prayers that He would help me through the hottest part of summer while completing my third trimester of pregnancy. Being a born-and-raised Oregonian, I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to heat to start with, let alone when I’m carrying around a little in-house heater.
Even with the cool weather, I’m living in flip-flops, (like these pretty ones!) sleeveless cotton dresses, and the coolest things I can find in my closet!
Now, I am sitting here looking out at the ocean as John and I enjoy a little relaxation time at the coast to celebrate our anniversary (and my birthday, woot!)
Unfortunately, here in Oregon, the Pacific Ocean is a little too chilly (for me, anyway!) to play in until later summer, when the weather warms up a bit. Mostly you’ll only see surfers with their full-body wetsuits out there right now, (and a few crazies, like my wild younger sisters!)
The other problem for me at present – I’m enormously pregnant and still don’t have a maternity swimsuit! Both of my older daughters were born during the cooler months where the need for a maternity swimsuit was not pressing enough for me to bother, or want to spend the money on one.
There are a lot of warm days coming still before my due date of August 19th, and I’m looking through my options! Old Navy has several fun maternity styles and dozens of other swimsuits for after baby!
Two-piece swimsuits are out for me for more than one reason, (massive stretch marks are one of them, LOL!)
I love the color and ruched style of this Old Navy suit. The ruching over the waist would do a great job at hiding that post-baby pooch that I’ll have later this summer after Baby #3 makes his or her appearance! I’m wondering if a suit with this kind of feature that might work for different stages of my body’s changes through pregnancies and recoveries. During this time of my life, (affectionately referred to as the “Baby-Making Years,”) it seems like my size is always changing…I need a style that is extremely forgiving, and Old Navy just might have one for me!
Thank you again to Old Navy for sponsoring my post. I was compensated for this post as a member of Clever Girls Collective, but the content is all my own.
